- Shahada: The declaration of faith, stating that there is no god but God (Allah) and that Muhammad is his messenger. This is the foundation upon which all other pillars are built.
- Salat: The practice of prayer five times a day, facing Mecca.
- Zakat: The act of giving alms or charity to the poor and needy.
- Sawm: The practice of fasting during the month of Ramadan from sunrise to sunset.
- Hajj: The pilgrimage to Mecca, if physically and financially able, to visit the Kaaba.
These five pillars represent the core obligations and practices for Muslims, and they are essential to understanding and practicing the faith.
